Hyundai Motor Group is taking a major step forward in robotics, officially introducing its versatile, four-wheeled autonomous robot platform, the MobED (Mobile Eccentric Droid). Developed for both industrial applications and daily consumer use, this compact machine is set to hit the market in the first half of 2026.
The production-ready robot, refined by the company's Robotics Lab, was showcased at the International Robot Exhibition 2025 (iREX 2025) in Tokyo, following its initial concept reveal at CES 2022.
MobED's core strength lies in its Adaptive Mobility, allowing it to navigate a wide range of environments.
This modular design makes MobED highly adaptable, suitable for everything from delivery and logistics tasks to research, media operations, and even carrying golf equipment. Hyundai emphasizes its seamless operation in both narrow indoor corridors and challenging outdoor terrains, reducing the need for environment-specific robot designs.
Both robots are powered by a 1.47 kWh battery, providing up to four hours of operation on a single charge and recharging from 10% to 90% in under 2.5 hours.
With its innovative engineering and flexible platform, MobED is poised to accelerate a future where versatile, intelligent robotics become commonplace, setting a new standard in the global robotics market.
