Microsoft Acknowledges Windows Criticism: “There’s a Lot to Fix”

Pavan Davaluri, the head of Microsoft’s Windows division, recently faced significant criticism following his comments about the future of the operating system and the company’s AI-driven “agentic OS” vision. Davaluri stated that Windows would offer an AI-enhanced experience aimed at boosting user productivity. However, users argued that the operating system has more urgent issues that need fixing and that AI-focused plans should not be the top priority. The backlash grew so intense that Davaluri had to disable replies on his original post.

Windows Boss Admits to Problems

Following the controversy, Davaluri responded to user feedback and addressed comments claiming that Windows is no longer developer-friendly or suitable for power users. He emphasized that the Windows team is aware that significant work needs to be done regarding the user experience, inconsistent dialog windows, and advanced user workflows.

In his social media statement, Davaluri said that they carefully review user feedback and try to balance direct comments with data gathered from product feedback systems.

Windows has increasingly shifted toward AI-powered features, many of which do not work well, causing many customers to lose confidence in the future of the OS. While it’s encouraging that Microsoft recognizes the issues, users stress that words must turn into action.
